The dispute for pole at the Sao Paulo ePrix was exciting, the reigning champion, Pascal Werhlein (Porsche) took pole after beating Oliver Rowland (Nissan) in the final dispute
The first part of training is divided into two groups where the four best pass. Group A included Jake Dennis (Andretti), Antonio Felix da Costa (Porsche), Oliver Rowland (Nissan) and Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Penske). Group B was hit when Mitch Evans’ (Jaguar) car was stranded with battery problems. In the second qualifying phase there is a direct elimination system. In the quarter-finals: Rowland, Dennis, Gunther and Wehrlein prevailed over Da Costa, Vergne, Mortara and Nato respectively.
In the semifinals, Rowland beat Dennis by just .001. While Wehrlein managed to beat Gunther with a difference of 0s357. In the final, Werhelin won pole by 0.099.
