This Sunday, December 8, France 3 airs the final episode of season 13 of Les Enquêtes de Véra, placed under the sign of change. In this new burst of episodes, Vera (Brenda Blethyn) has definitely changed partners after Kenny Doughty, who played Aiden Hill since Season 5, decided to leave at the end of Season 12.
So Vera finds her former sergeant Joe Ashworth (David Leon), her partner in the first four seasons, now an inspector. She was sent to Vera’s unit for evaluation as part of new police procedures, but decided to return to work with her so she could care for her father, who was in a nursing home.

Good news for fans of the detective series: Vera’s Investigations will return for a 14th season. Unfortunately, English channel ITV announced last April that it would be the last.
The 2011 detective series, directed by Brenda Blethyn, will air at the end of its fourteenth season, consisting of two 90-minute episodes. After this announcement, the actress, who brought the character of Vera to life all these years, wanted to thank the fans of the detective series who supported her all these years.
