The opposition wins and Bap is elected president of Flamengo

The candidate won with a great advantage over Landim’s candidate in the elections held this Monday (12/9) at the club’s headquarters in Gávea

Flamengo already knows its new president for the next three years (2025-2027). After all, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, of Chapa da Raça, Amor e Gestão (opposition), was elected, with a large advantage, and is the new president of the club. The vote took place this Monday (9), in the Hélio Maurício gym, in Gávea.

The current candidate, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, obtained 1,731 votes, against 1,166 for Rodrigo Dunshee and 363 for Maurício Gomes de Mattos, third. Furthermore, the vote for Flamengo reached an all-time high of voters. The votes were 3,272 (five blank and seven null). In total, there would be 6,137 people entitled to vote.

Bap x-ray

Bap, 64, has on his vice-president list lawyer Flávio Willeman, who was vice-legal during Eduardo Bandeira de Mello’s two terms. Furthermore, the opposition candidate gained the important support of the club’s biggest idol, Zico. Then, still speaking of important names in the club’s politics, the former presidents Hélio Ferraz and Kléber Leite declared their vote in favor of the candidate.

Finally, it is worth highlighting that candidate Luiz Eduardo Batista declared, during the election campaign, that he was completely against the creation of the SAF in Flamengo. The Bap team also includes former directors Rodrigo Tostes, Claudio Pracownik, Ricardo Lomba and Antônio Tabet.

When the weather warmed up

The only tense moment during the election was an argument between Dunshee and Bap party members this Monday morning. The current board president’s group blamed the situation on using the club’s system to identify who had already voted or would be added to the list. An investigation was made and the hypothesis was discarded.
