“Beautiful That Way” received a nomination for Best Original Song for the film “The Last Showgirl”

Miley Cyrus released the single “Beautiful That Way” this Monday (12/9), part of the soundtrack to the film “The Last Showgirl”, by Gia Coppola. The release took place a few hours after the announcement of the Golden Globe nominations, in which the song competes in the Best Original Song category.
The song, composed by Miley in collaboration with singer Lykke Li and producer Andrew Wyatt, contains melancholic lines: “”Spin, baby, spin. Night always falls. At least you had your moment. Now the light shines on another girl who is so beautiful.”
About the movie
The Last Showgirl follows the story of a seasoned showgirl, played by Pamela Anderson (“SOS Malibu”/”Baywatch”), who needs to reevaluate her future after her show abruptly closes. The film is directed by Gia Coppola (“Palo Alto”) and written by Kate Gersten (“The Good Place”).
In addition to Anderson, the cast includes Jamie Lee Curtis (“Halloween”), Dave Bautista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Brenda Song (“The Social Network”), Kiernan Shipka (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Billie Lourd (“American Horror Story”) and Jason Schwartzman (“Asteroid City”). The film will be released in theaters in the United States next Wednesday (12/13), but does not yet have a release date in Brazil.
Recognition at the Golden Globes
Pamela Anderson was also nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the film. She competes in the Best Actress in a Drama category, along with Angelina Jolie (“Maria”), Nicole Kidman (“Babygirl”), Tilda Swinton (“The Next Room”), Kate Winslet (“Lee”) and Fernanda Torres. (“I’m still here”).
In the Best Original Song category, “Beautiful That Way” competes for the award with songs from “Rivais”, “Robô Selvagem”, “Emilia Pérez”, “Better Man – A História de Robbie Williams”.
