Golden Globes 2025: Squid Game Named Best Series…and we wonder why!

Just months after its triumph that made Emmy Awards history, Shogun is among the most nominated TV series at the Golden Globes. The Disney+ historical series received nominations for Best Drama Series, Best Actor and Best Actress.

The unexpected guest in this category is undoubtedly Squid Game. Season 2 of the South Korean series is yet to be revealed by Netflix, as it will be available on the platform from December 26.

The competition applies to all the series that took place before December 31. Sending episodes to the Hollywood Foreign Press (International Press Association in Hollywood) jury in early November explains why Squid Game was able to be nominated for the 2025 edition of the Golden Globes.

On the comedy side, Bear will try to reclaim his title, but the competition will be fierce, facing off against great underdogs like Hacks, Abbott Elementary and Only Murders in the Building. Two new Netflix releases The Gentlemen and Nobody Wants This have received their first Golden Globe nominations!
