Medical report states PT member ‘spent the day well’

The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), will undergo a new operation on Thursday (12) following the head surgery he underwent last Tuesday (10), the medical team accompanying the President informed.

The new bulletin from the health authority specifies that the 79-year-old member of the PT will undergo endovascular surgery.

“As part of the therapeutic program, the operation will be completed tomorrow morning with an endovascular operation (embolization of the middle meningeal artery),” the statement reads, without providing further explanation.

The note adds that further updates regarding the president will be provided in the press conference scheduled for tomorrow (12), starting at 10am (Brasilia time).

“President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva remains hospitalized in intensive care at the Sírio-Libanês hospital, in São Paulo.

He spent the day well, without accidents, underwent physiotherapy, walked and received visits from his family”, reads the note.

Lula underwent emergency head surgery after doctors discovered an intracranial hemorrhage stemming from a domestic accident in October. .
