He created the event a year ago, and within days of its release, this Apple TV+ movie became the most-watched feature film in the platform’s history. Although it was recently dropped by John Watts’ Wolves, it’s still a huge success for Apple TV+.

It’s The Family Plan, directed by Simon Selan Jones (Ballers, The Diplomate). This tender family road movie directed by Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan, Maggie Koo and Said Taghmaoui was the perfect late 2023 surprise.

This funny and effective action comedy tells the story of Dan Morgan, a devoted husband, father of three and successful car salesman who loves his quiet suburban life. But this is only part of his life.

Years ago, he worked for a government tasked with exterminating the world’s most dangerous people. When enemies from his past track him down, Dan takes his wife, two teenagers, and adorable 10-month-old baby on an impromptu road trip to Las Vegas.

Determined to protect his family – while giving them the vacation of a lifetime – Danny must return to work without revealing his true identity. Rated 3.2 out of 5 by AlloCiné viewers, the family plan was a hit on Apple TV+, which quickly earned it a sequel!

The former “Game of Thrones” star in the “Family Plan” sequel

A year later, the continuation of The Family Plan and some information became known. So The Family Plan 2 takes place at Christmas time in Europe, where Dan has planned the perfect vacation for his family. Obviously, his past continues to haunt them.

The lead actor is back for this sequel but term We’re told the former Game of Thrones star will be joining them. Indeed, Kit Harington, the unforgettable Jon Snow, is joining the cast of this sequel, in an as yet unknown role.

But we envisioned him as the antagonist in The Family Plan 2. Especially since the British actor proved that he was good in this field with the role of Henry Mook, the troubled, unpleasant boss of the start-up HBO series Industry.

However, it would be interesting to see Kit Harington in a comedy and to see him interact with Mark Wahlberg in this type of film.
