Even though he only appears in 35 episodes of Little House on the Prairie (out of 205 total), Adam Kendall remains an essential character for any serious fan of the Michael Landon-created show. It was at the end of season 4 that this young blind man first appeared in the series, when Mary, who herself had recently lost her sight, met him upon arrival at a specialized institute.
Despite a very tumultuous start to the relationship between the two characters, they eventually lived a brilliant love story and got married in Season 5, an event that allowed Adam to join the Ingall clan.
- What happened to Melissa Sue Anderson who played the mayor in Little House on the Prairie?
What happened to Adam’s translator?
It was the American actor Linwood Boomer, 23 years old when he first arrived on the set, who offered his artistic canvases. But 40 years after the end of Little House on the Prairie, when all the show’s actors have gone their separate ways, what has become of Adam’s translator?
After his time in Walnut Grove (which undoubtedly remains his greatest role as an actor), Linwood Boomer had several small parts in other successful series such as The Fun Cruise, Hawaii Police State, Fantasy Island or even Star Trek: Voyager.
Creator of one of the best series of all time
Soon enough, though, Linwood Boomer ditches the acting hat to go behind the camera. He works as a producer and screenwriter in several television projects, such as Night Court, Townies, 3rd Planet After the Sun and God, the Devil and Bob.
But it was in the early 2000s, creating his own series, that Linwood Boomer created the most important work of his career. Loosely inspired (as he later said) by his own childhood, he created the series that would quickly become one of the most popular television sitcoms in history: Malcolm the Unspeakable.
Especially Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek and Frankie Muniz, this funny, exciting and deeply engaging show has made an entire generation of viewers laugh for 7 seasons.

“I always told stories about my childhood.”
“I was always telling stories about my childhood at lunch and people thought it was really funny, so I decided to write it down, but it was really depressing. This kid was stuck in his miserable experience, and then I imagined it. A creative device that consisted of him talking directly to the camera.Linwood Boomer told USA Today about the genesis of Malcolm.
18 years after the hit comedy series ended, Linwood Boomer brought together Malcolm alumni for another family reunion. In fact, 4 new episodes have been ordered and will be streaming on Disney+ soon.
