The striker, 35 years old from Criciúma, will sign a one-season contract if he passes the medical examinations at Toca da Raposa
This Monday (16), Cruzeiro reached an agreement to sign striker Bolasie, who played for Criciúma this season. Now free on the market, the player will undergo medical tests and, if approved, will sign a contract until the end of 2025.
The athlete, in fact, has been on holiday since the end of the Brazilian Championship, which took place a week and a half ago. Coach Fernando Diniz has approved the arrival of Bolasie in the squad of the Minas Gerais team. His physical condition and technical qualities satisfy the celestial technical committee.
However, to count on Bolasie, Cruzeiro’s board then overcame competition from other clubs, such as Fluminense and Grêmio, who investigated the player’s situation. Bolasie played just one season with Criciúma, who were relegated to Série B in 2025.
Bolasie’s career
Born in France, Bolasie has Congolese and English nationality. He played most of his career in the Premier League in England, playing for Crystal Palace for four years. He also played football in Belgium, Türkiye and Wales before joining the Santa Catarina club this year. For Criciúma, he scored eight goals and contributed four assists in 36 games.
