Maintenance of a treatment plant could leave nearly 40 neighborhoods without water in Porto Alegre

The service carried out by Dmae involves supply in various regions of the capital of Rio Grande do Sul

On Tuesday morning (17th), the DMAE (Municipal Water and Sewerage Department) started maintenance of the Menino Deus Water Treatment Station (ETA), with the aim of completing the revision of the chemical product dosing system. The maintenance, which began at 8:30 a.m., could cause shortages or low pressure in up to 37 neighborhoods in the city.

The service is expected to be completed this Tuesday afternoon (5pm). While the works are underway, the temporary closure of the Treated Water Pumping Station (Ebats) could compromise the region’s water supply. Where there is a lack of water, the DMAE guarantees that restoration will take place gradually.

Neighborhoods that could be affected by shortages include: Agronomia, Alto Teresópolis, Azenha, Belém Velho, Camaquã, Cavalhada, Centro, Cidade Baixa, Cristal, Intercap, Jardim Botânico, Jardim Carvalho, Jardim do Salso, Jardim Europa, Medianeira, Menino Deus , Nonoai, Parthenon, Charruas Park, Petrópolis, Praia de Belas, Santana, Santa Tereza, São Jorge, São José, Santo Antônio, Tristeza, Vila Campo da Tuca, Vila Conceição, Vila dos Comerciários, Vila dos Sargentos, Vila Alto Erechim, Vila João Pessoa, Vila Nova and Vila Topázio.
