The feature film tells, from a fixed camera, the story of several residents who passed by the same house
Lisa Kudrow criticized the most recent film starring Tom Hanks.
Here is based on graphic novel namesake of Richard McGuire and tells a story that takes place in a single location across the centuries. During the 104 minutes of film, the camera is fixed in one spot, never moving, and viewers are introduced to the lives of everyone who has passed through that location.
In a podcast interview Armchair Expert (via Variety), the actress of Friends stated that the feature film directed by Robert Zemeckis serves as an “endorsement for AI.”
“They filmed it, and they were actually able to record the scene and then watch it play back when they were younger, and it was ready for them to see,” he said. Kudrow. “All I took away from it was that this is an endorsement for AI. It’s not like, ‘Oh, this is going to ruin everything,’ but what’s going to be left? Forget the actors, what about the budding actors? They’re just going to be licensing and recycling.”
She continued, “Leaving that completely aside, what work will there be for human beings? And then what? Will there be some kind of allowance for people to live on, and you won’t have to work? How could that be enough?”
Here is scheduled to hit Brazilian cinemas on January 16, 2025. Watch the trailer:
