A commercial and critical success, “While You Were Sleeping” is one of the most prestigious romantic comedies of Sandra Bullock’s career. The plot follows Lucy (Bullock), a lonely woman who works on the subway and has a platonic crush on a passenger (Peter Gallagher).

However, on Christmas, the man is pushed onto the tracks after a robbery. Lucy saves him, but he falls into a coma. However, when she visits him in hospital, Lucy is mistaken by his family for his girlfriend.

This leads to a series of misunderstandings and, what’s more, Lucy falls in love with the comatose man’s brother (Bill Pullman). The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub.

The Princess and the Commoner (2018)

Inspired by the novel “The Prince and the Pauper” by Mark Twain, “The Princess and the Commoner” is a Netflix romantic comedy that sees Vanessa Hudgens play two different roles. The cast also includes Sam Palladio and Nick Sagar.

The story follows a baker and a duchess who, when they meet at a baking competition just before Christmas, discover that they are identical. Intrigued by each other’s lives, they decide to switch places for a few days.

The film had two sequels: “The Princess and the Commoner: A New Adventure” and “The Princess and the Commoner: Even Bad Guys Love,” both also available on Netflix.

In the plot, the callous Kate (Smart) tries to win back her ex-boyfriend and cancels her blind date with Miles (Gosselaar) on Christmas Eve. However, Kate later discovers that she is in a time loop, having the ability to relive Christmas 12 times to mature.

A cinematic classic, “A Loja da Esquina” is considered one of the best romantic comedies of all time. It is directed by the famous German director Ernst Lubitsch.

Margaret Sullavan and James Stewart play two Budapest store clerks who hate each other. However, without knowing it, they are in love with each other, as they correspond anonymously through letters.
