In Sao Paulo alone, 432 alerts arrived, equal to 33.6% of the total registered in the country

São Paulo and Minas Gerais were the states that generated 45.7% of the disinformation alerts received by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and transmitted to the Regional Electoral Tribunals (TRE) in the 2024 elections.

In Sao Paulo alone, 432 alerts arrived, equal to 33.6% of the total. In Minas Gerais there were 156 notifications, equal to 12.1%.

The study is found in the Permanent Program of Combating Disinformation in Electoral Justice (PPED), published by the Higher Electoral Court (TSE) this Thursday 19.

From June to October, the Election Disinformation Alert System (Siade) received 5,250 reports related to election disinformation. An average of 35.9 notifications per day.

Of the total, 1,972 reports were closed by the Special Advisory Office for Combating Disinformation. They were discarded because they did not contain the minimum or necessary information for reading or because they were not linked to issues related to combating disinformation;

Another 1,287 notifications were submitted to the Regional Electoral Courts for local issues.

Furthermore, the Higher Electoral Court (TSE) handled 255 notifications of cases of attacks on the electoral system or the electoral court itself.
