28 Years Later: The Sequel has already been announced and the release date is earlier than expected

Twenty-three years after 28 Days, Danny Boyle reunites with his zombies in a new film, 28 Years Later. In fact, this project is the first part of a trilogy already planned by the Sony studio. The next episode is directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman, The Marvels) and already has a release date.

Titled The Bone Temple — Le Temple des os in French — the film, also written by Alex Garland, will hit theaters on January 16, 2026 in the United States — French date unknown — a few months after 28 years. Later – announced by June 20, 2025. So we imagine that the ending of the previous film will be open enough to continue the story.

Curious information: The cast of The Bone Temple is still unknown. It is believed to be the same actor as Danny Boyle 28 years later, but no sources confirm this.

Twenty-eight years later, Aarton Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes will play the main roles. Cillian Murphy, the hero of the first film in 2002, is also set to appear.
