It’s official: WWE Superstar Becky Lynch has joined the cast of the upcoming Star Trek franchise, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The former WWE Women’s World Champion, who has been away from programming for over 6 months, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her latest adventure.
Paramount+’s new Star Trek series will focus on the coming of age of a team of young cadets. Lynch’s role has yet to be revealed, but she will join Sandro Rosta, Cary Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Kareem Diane and Zoe Steiner, plus Oscar winner Holly Hunter will join the cast as The Captain and Chancellor.
“You know, when you’re already a world champion, there’s really only one place to go and that’s the stars.“, he said in a video shot for this occasion. “I am pleased to announce that I am joining Star Trek: Starfleet Academy as a member of the Bridge Crew.“
He continued: “It was an incredible experience playing alongside a simply spectacular cast and crew, and I can’t wait for you all to experience it when it comes out on Paramount+.“
