In addition to highlighting the films of actresses, the 28th edition of the Minas Gerais festival promotes changes in competitive exhibitions
Homage to the actress Bruna Linzmeyer
The 28th Tiradentes Film Festival, which will take place from January 24th to February 1st, will pay tribute to actress Bruna Linzmeyer. Recognized for her versatility and her extraordinary presence in national cinema, the actress will have a selection of works presented at the event, including “O Vento Frio que a Chuva Traz”, by Neville d’Almeida, “Baby”, by Marcelo Caetano, and “Alfazema”, by Sabrina Fidalgo.
Despite having appeared in the soap opera “Pantanal”, the actress has few television works and an extensive filmography, which was further expanded after coming out as a lesbian in 2018.
News in competitive fairs
The Mostra Aurora, the main cinematographic showcase of the event, will now be dedicated exclusively to debuting directors. The change reinforces the curator’s initial goal, established in 2008, of favoring low-budget independent productions. The selection, which previously accepted up to a director’s third feature film, will now be evaluated by a young jury.
Another change concerns the Olhos Livres Exhibition, which will continue to explore new perspectives in authorial production, but with an official jury responsible for choosing the winner. As a result, Olhos Livres undergoes a shift and tends to become the main exhibition of the Minas Gerais event. The same jury will also evaluate Mostra Foco, focused on short films.
