The “Chucky” panel was canceled at Comic-Con International. In a video posted on social media, the creator of the series – and that of Chuck – Don Mancini justified the decision with the expression “plenty of caution”. In the midst of season 2 production in Toronto, Canada, the team decided not to risk contamination from the pandemic – which “is over”, just not – on a long international trip to San Diego, California.
“Hi ‘Chucky’ fans! I’m Don Mancini and I’m in Season 2 set in Toronto. We were looking forward to seeing you at San Diego Comic-Con, but unfortunately we won’t be able to. Lots of caution there. led to this strategy and we hope to see you next year, ”Mancini said.
Fans, however, will be able to see what the producers had prepared to show at Comic-Con. The post warns of a “surprise” on Saturday. This is the first teaser of the second season.
“We are sorry we did not succeed, but the first teaser of season 2 is still scheduled for this Saturday,” confirmed Mancini.
In addition to writing the scripts and producing the episodes, Mancini also directs the episodes of the series. He is the creator of the character, who wrote the screenplay for the first “Child’s Play” in 1988 and has since explored the franchise relentlessly: he wrote six sequels and directed three plastic monster films.
In the series, the title character finds new victims when he is bought in a garage sale by young Jake (Zackary Arthur, from “Transparent”), a gay teenager who suffers from bullying. Unexpectedly, Chucky empathizes with the young man’s plight, but in the bloodiest way possible.
The cast of the attraction also highlights Jennifer Tilly, the protagonist of “The Bride of Chucky”, and recovers the classic dubbing of Chucky, made by actor Brad Dourif, in counterpoint to the recent remake in which the doll was voiced by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker). ).
The season 2 premiere is scheduled for October 5.
The series is made available in Brazil on the Star + pay channel.
