In an interview with Fantasticaired this Sunday, 22, the survivors said that they live in Rio de Janeiro and that they were traveling to spend the end of the year with their family. Renério da Silva Freire was driving accompanied by a colleague and his wife, identified as Fagner and Amanda.
Renério remembers being overtaken by the bus and, a few minutes before the accident, he saw that the rear tire of the vehicle had burst and he went in the wrong direction. “The truck came and hit him head-on. But the driver of the cart took the horse away [parte da frente do caminhão] and left only the bitrem [onde vai a carga]”, explains.
“There was a very loud explosion. And the bus arrives suspended a bit”remember.
Amanda says her legs got stuck in the hardware of the car, which ended up under the trailer. “I couldn’t go out. […] Many people scream and ask for help,” he says. Renério managed to get off first, then Fagner. Then, together, the two helped the woman get out of the vehicle.
They say there was a fuel leak and therefore they were unable to provide assistance to the people on the bus. “It was already on fire, it was already very hot,” Renério said.
