Christmas is almost here and the Christmas movie marathons have already started. In 2024, the release of feature films set during the holiday season started early and new features include romances, comedies, animations and even horror. Check it out:


That Christmas

Based on the enchanting trilogy of children’s books by the award-winning writer and director Richard Curtis (A Place Called Notting Hill), That Christmas follows interconnected stories about family and friendship, love and loneliness, a Santa Claus mistake and a bunch of turkeys, of course. The animation has voices from Brian Cox (Succession), Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter), Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who) and more.


Risky Baggage

The plot revolves around Ethan Kopek (Taron Egerton, Rocketman), a young air security agent. During a day at work, he is blackmailed into letting a dangerous package pass through security checks on a flight on Christmas Eve and saving the life of his girlfriend, played by Sophia Carson (Continences to Love), and the other passengers, must follow orders from a stranger.


Operation Christmas

The action comedy Operation Christmas accompanies Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam), the North Pole Security Chief, and Jack O’Malley (Chris Evans, Captain America: The First Avenger), a bounty hunter, joining forces after the Santa Claus – codename: Das Neves (JK Simmons, Spider-Man: No Way Home) – being kidnapped on the eve of Christmas. To rescue him, the duo embarks on an adventure with other magical creatures on a global quest.


A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter

The Christmas special mixes songs from the singer’s Christmas EP Sabrina Carpenter, fruitcakewith Christmas classics and features duets with artists and comedians. In addition to the music, the special also features comedy moments that promise to make the audience laugh out loud.
