The selection includes everything from new Christmas plots to family adventures
During Christmas week, between the 23rd and 27th of December, Rede Globo’s Afternoon Session presents a special program with themed films, animations and stories for the whole family.
Check out the full schedule for the week:
1. Monday, 12/23: A Christmas between us
Synopsis: A Christmas Between Us is a film inspired by the life of writer, director and actor Aml Ameen. In the film, Melvin (Aml Ameen) is a British author who lives in the United States and returns to London for the Christmas holidays to introduce his American girlfriend, Lisa (Aja Naomi King), to her parents, an eccentric British-Caribbean couple. But the relationship goes through ups and downs when Lisa sees the life Melvin left behind.
2. Tuesday, 12/24: Noelle
Synopsis: Daughter of Santa Claus (Jay Brazeau), Noelle (Anna Kendrick) has always had to support and encourage her brother Nick (Bill Hader), who is about to take on his father’s role. When Nick disappears just before Christmas, Noelle embarks on a fun and heartfelt journey to find him and discover what the holiday really means.
3. Wednesday, 12/25: The Christmas Battle
Synopsis: The Christmas Battle follows a man on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas decorating contest. Chris (Eddie Murphy) makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to increase his chances of victory, and she casts a spell that wreaks havoc across the city. At the risk of ruining the holidays, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross) and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper’s spell, fight magical characters and save Christmas for everyone.
4. Thursday, 12/26: Turma da Mônica – Origins
Synopsis:Mônica, Magali, Milena, Cebolinha and Cascão meet at a hotel in Limoeiro and need to overcome challenges and competitions to form Turma da Mônica. The film brings together the first three episodes of the original Globoplay series.
5. Friday, 12/27: Ice Age 4
Synopsis: Always in search of his coveted nut, the squirrel Scrat unintentionally causes the continents to separate. The situation causes changes in the terrain of several locations, including where friends Manny (Ray Romano/Diego Vilela), Diego (Denis Leary/Márcio Garcia) and Siid (John Leguizamo/Tadeu Mello) are staying. An earthquake causes the trio to become trapped in an iceberg, while Ellie (Queen Latifah/Carla PompÃlio) and little Amora (Keke Palmer/Bruna Laynes) remain on the continent. On the high seas, Manny promises that he will find them at any cost, but to do so he will need to face dangerous pirates and the song of sirens.
