Mortelle Raclette on Canal+: Was the intimacy coordinator to supervise the sex scenes?

On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, Canal+ offers its subscribers the opportunity to see its new extraordinary creation Mortelle Raclette at 10:05 p.m. In this crazy film directed by Francois Descracs (and written by Francois Condamine and Bertrand Diller), the story begins when the heir to an X-rated film company decides to change the genre by hiring an intimate relationship for the new film TIRE-FESSES. coordinator.

Movie… Christmas Balls

The latter, who was also trained in eco-responsible filming, is hired during the actors’ sex scenes. This is a first for both him and the team he will support.

But a small group filming in an isolated savoir-faire chalet quickly find themselves cut off from the world by a blizzard and wifi outage. However, these incidents couldn’t have come at a worse time: one by one, the team members are brutally murdered! Blood red stains on the white mantle of the mountains…

In Mortelle Raclette, the role of intimacy coordinator is played by actress Béranger McNeese, who we also saw in Terminal this year. But did an actual relationship coordinator oversee the filming of this slightly sexual fantasy that humorously takes on slasher codes?

Were the sex scenes framed?

The answer is yes! Francois Descarque says:I have never filmed fake porn scenes or love scenes. Our Intimacy Coordinator really controlled these sequences, especially with their choreography. The shoot had to be safe for the actors and remain funny. We should not be ashamed to watch.”

It was more technical than horror or gruesome scenes! Really great precision was needed for each framing, The director explains. (…) When the actors are, for example, on the couch, the pillows were arranged so that there was no physical contact between them.

And once the actors felt in a “safe” place, they could riot. It was very important for us that they feel comfortable so that the humor can work (…) Shooting Mortelle Raclette was really an apprenticeship for me as an intimacy coordinator.– concludes François Descrac.

A team member adds:We play with the feature, but it’s a feature we respect and find useful on set. It’s not necessarily a trend, it’s not necessarily a zeitgeist, it’s something to be welcomed.

Mortelle Raclette will be broadcast on Wednesday 25 December at 22:05 on Canal+.
