“It will be more violent than ‘The Squid Game'”
‘Squid Game’ creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has teased his upcoming movie based on the book ‘Killing Old People Club’.
The South Korean director will make “another controversial film,” he said, inspired by the novel by the Italian intellectual and essayist Umberto Echo (via Variety).
Hwang himself has explained that he already wrote a 25-page treatment for the project, which has the working title of ‘KO Club’ and could be the reason the filmmaker will have to hide from older people, he joked.
“It will be more violent than ‘The Squid Game’Hwang assured.
The filmmaker has been the brains behind Netflix’s sensational survival drama ‘The Squid Game,’ in which a series of financially strapped characters agree to compete in children’s games for a cash prize… only to find out that there is more at stake than they had imagined.
Starring Lee Jung-jae as the protagonist Seong Gi-hun, the series premiered on the streaming platform last September and became a true phenomenon, with many fans recreating the costumes and games seen in the series, minus the deaths. heartbreaking, of course.
From here there are spoilers, in case you did not see that first season of the series.

Hwang is currently developing a second season, with Lee Jung-jae returning to the role after that cliffhanger ending.
From the looks of it, Seong Gi-hun, now red-haired, will be returning to the arena to stop the games and possibly team up with new players. You know, since most of the characters from the first season are deceased.
The first season also stars Hoyeon, Park Hae-soo, Gong Yoo, O Yeong-soo, and Wi Ha-joon, but it is unclear if they will return in flashbacks.
However, the second season of the famous Netflix series (with a third season already planned) could take years to develop. So the real game is to guess whether we’ll see the sequel series, scheduled for a late 2024 release, or KO Club first.
Anyway, season 1 of ‘The Squid Game’ is available on Netflix. The second season has already been confirmed.
