Grey’s Anatomy: ‘They didn’t know what to do with him’… Martin Henderson (Virgin River) recalls his brief experience on the medical series.

Martin Henderson, who now stars in Virgin River on Netflix, first appeared on American television’s most famous medical series, Grey’s Anatomy. After the death of Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), he was given the difficult task of playing Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) new love interest.

Unfortunately, their romance ended quickly, and the actress played in the TV show for only two years. Suffice it to say, this plot didn’t impress fans to begin with. However, would the actor be up for it if we asked him to return to Grey’s Anatomy? he asked termHe answered honestly:

“I will always be open to that possibility”

“I haven’t thought much about it, just because I’m very involved and I’m very busy with Virgin River and other projects and my personal life. Shonda Rhimes He always helped me a lot. We have worked together many times and on different projects, so I will always be open to this opportunity.”

“I feel like they didn’t know what to do with Nathan.”

He continues confidently: “But it had to be combined with what was going on in my life and my career at the time. For that I also had to feel like the character really had something to do and that I could give him something because I feel like they didn’t know what to do with Nathan’s character.

According to Martin Henderson, Nathan was only there to fill Derek’s absence: “After Derek left, he was just a stopgap. They figured they needed a new girlfriend for Meredith. So I was thrown into that world, but I don’t think there was any really set plan for him.”
