The third (and last?) installment of ‘A quiet place’ is confirmed, although it will take a while to reach our screens. Are you looking forward to seeing ‘A Quiet Place 3’?
After more than a year of delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ‘A quiet place 2’ arrived at the Spanish box office to show that it was still as tense (and silent) as its predecessor, becoming one of the best films 2021 horror movie. Written and directed by John Krasinski, this sequel continued to expand its post-apocalyptic world alongside the Abbott family, now led by Evelyn (Emily Blunt)who must survive a new adventure in search of a safe place with the help of newcomer Emmett (Cillian Murphy).
There is no doubt that the end of the film leaves the door open for a continuation, in addition to completely changing the norms established so far in history. In its final scene, a call to hope is clearly seen, so… Will we see ‘A Quiet Place 3’? Will it finally be a trilogy as Krasinski has previously commented? How will Paramount Pictures expand this universe that has proven so successful with audiences? When will the release date be?
At the moment we know that, before seeing this sequel, another project will arrive: ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ will be the first spin-off of the franchise and prequel to the story we knowin a story that will not feature the Abbotts (or Krasinski or Blunt) and will be directed by Michael Sarnoski (‘Pig’).

‘A quiet place 3’: release date
Paramount’s schedule started giving problems and, although we were originally going to see ‘A Quiet Place 3’ on March 31, 2023, its next release date was set for September 22, 2023. Now Krasinski himself finally announced, after a meeting of Paramount investors, that ‘A quiet place 3′ will be released in 2025. Thus, the film would arrive after the spin-off, ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’, which is scheduled for March 8, 2024.
The latest news we know, as of July 2022, is that ‘A Quiet Place 3’ is in the writing process with John Krasinski, Scott Beck and Jeff Nichols. Krasinski could direct this sequel, but it has not been confirmed.
‘A Quiet Place 3’: Synopsis
In March 2021, in an interview with Collider, Krasinski talked about his possible plans for the franchisecommented the direction in which you would like to go.
“It’s interesting, I hadn’t really thought about a sequel when I was doing the first one. I did have questions though as I was shooting it over those campfires in the distance that you see in the first part. I always thought they were cool, and I was like, to myself: ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could explore where those campfires lead? Who is on the other side of them?’. But I never thought there would be a sequel. So when I started writing it, I started thinking about that fire and my brain started wandering about different questions, about what they would mean later, and I started writing notes in case I could prepare for a third installment.”
Speaking of that possible third part, Krasinski has made it clear that he sees a trilogy as the most natural progression in history. and the best way to explore your characters and the terrifying world around them.
The end of ‘A Quiet Place 2’ opened borders in the saga that could be very important for the future, and especially for a third installment. The Abbotts split up midway through the film when Regan (Millicent Simmonds) goes looking for the source of a radio broadcast (in which the song ‘Beyond the Sea’ is heard) and drags Emmett with her. Evelyn stays in her shelter with Marcus (Noah Jupe) and the newborn baby, but she will have to go get medicine from a pharmacy and a visit from a creature will create tense moments.
In the end, with numerous obstacles, the protagonists rise triumphantly before their extraterrestrial enemies: Regan manages to broadcast the sound that paralyzes them through a radio station, and Marcus will use that transmission to protect his mother.. The two brothers in the distance stand as protectors of the adults, in a powerful image of generational change that tells us that the youngest are very prepared to make a difference in the world. Also, we discovered something important in this sequel: the creatures do not know how to swim, and therefore the islands are quite safe places.
With all its revelations, ‘A Quiet Place 2’ leaves a lot of threads to pull on ‘A Quiet Place 3’. Access to radio lines could benefit many survivors out there. In a third part we could see Regan and Emmett returning to the shelter to look for the rest of the group, and from there they start helping other people nearby. Share knowledge to turn this massacre into a collective struggle. That would allow Krasinski to introduce new characters, as Murphy has been in this case, and further expand the world he has created in fiction.
