Fantasy Island on somersault: What is this new version of Fantasy Island with Roselyn Sanchez?

Vacationers on Paradise Island live an incredible life. Events that never go as planned make them question themselves. They still don’t know how much their journey into this magical environment will transform them.

These transients share their moving stories and dreams. The ruler of this mysterious island, Elena Roarke, has put aside her own ambitions – and even the love of her life – to preserve her family’s legacy.

The first season of Fantasy Island is available starting this Friday, July 22 on Salto.

Sarah Fein and Elizabeth Kraft, who especially worked on the scripts of The 100 or even Lie To Me, made a crazy bet on the American channel ABC to relaunch the cult series that ran from 1977-1984.

Created by Gene Levitt, Fantasy Island featured Mr. Roarke (played by the late Ricardo Montalban) and his sidekick Tattoo (Hervé Villechaise) who fulfilled the wildest wishes and impossible dreams of the guests on their fantasy island.

For this new iteration, it’s Roselyn Sanchez, an actress found in FBI: Missing Persons and Devious Maids, who slips into the shoes of Elena Roark, a descendant of Mr. Roark. A luxurious tropical complex is now on the island, which is followed by many customers who hope that their dreams will come true. Elena then has to put aside her ambitions and dreams to run a hotel.

Aiding her in her mission is Ruby Okoro, played by Kiara Barnes, a young woman who falls gravely ill upon arriving on the island and is offered the role of Elena’s right-hand man.

John Gabriel Rodriquez lends his qualities to Javier, a reliable man who is not indifferent to the hotel manager’s charms. All three of them ensure the smooth functioning of this island unlike any other.

And like the original series, each episode of Fantasy Island follows the story of a visitor to the island who comes to fulfill a deep desire, but whose enchanted places ultimately help him rediscover himself. Guests who will be interpreted by a host of guests, including Bellamy Young (Scandal), Lindsey Kraft (Why Women Kill), Odette Annable (Supergirl) or Laura Layton (Melrose Place).
