Yellowstone isn’t over: What’s next in the series?

For a long time, fans have been hoping that Yellowstone Season 6 would see the light of day. Kevin Costner’s decision to leave the program prompted production to announce an early end to the program.

Despite rumors of a potential 6th season reported by American media, the series finale was recorded at the end of the fifth season.

However, this does not mean that the Yellowstone series will no longer be on the air, quite the contrary. A spin-off centering on Rip and Beth has already been announced, and this new production is expected to take the form of an unofficial 6th season.

Other characters from the original series are expected to appear in this program as well.

Follows ideas

An official sequel project called The Madison has already been announced. Although rumors suggested that Matthew McConaughey would be in the lead role, it has since been revealed that the female protagonist of the series will be Michelle Pfeiffer. The show also includes Matthew Fox and Patrick J. Adams.

Filming on this sequel could begin in the first half of next year, broadcasting from 2025. It remains to be seen whether the announcement of a Beth and Rip spin-off will disrupt the filming schedule, according to franchise creator Taylor Sheridan. He has a habit of writing all the scripts of his series himself and filming as many episodes as possible.

Season 2 of 1923, a prequel starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, has already been filmed. The show is scheduled to air on February 23rd, it is not clear if this new season will be the last or a 3rd season is in the works. To remind you, Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar), John Dutton’s grandfather, participates in this series.

John Dutton’s origins are explored in the new series

Another prequel project is also in the works. Set in 1944, the series explores the origins of a new generation of Duttons, namely John’s parents. Months in development, the show has yet to announce casting, suggesting a shoot is imminent.

In the bad news department, the spin-off at Texas Ranch 6666 is on hold. Logistical reasons were cited by Taylor Sheridan, who also owns the building.

Among the characters expected to appear in the program include Jimmy (Jefferson White) and Teeter (Jennifer Landon), or even Travis Whitley (as Taylor Sheridan).

All episodes of Yellowstone can now be seen exclusively on Paramount+, which is also offered as part of a Canal+ subscription.
