Recently, Gabriel Jesus has been implicated in his name in a possible return to Palmeiras, where he trained. Other clubs in Europe also tried to take him away from Arsenal, but Arteta stopped him, counting on his football and calling it “useful”.

The striker had his chance and established himself again with goals and good performances, something he is keen to celebrate. “It’s been a long time since I came to the English league,” he said, recalling his arrival in Europe in 2017, when he signed for Manchester City.

“I arrived here, not as a child, but as a very young man. Now I’m 27 years old, I’m a father, a husband, so everything has changed”, he underlined. “I think I have grown a lot as a man, and then as a professional, as a player, so I am very happy to come to this country, despite the cold we sometimes feel!”, he underlined.

After lifting the trophy with City, he hopes to repeat the feat and makes no secret of his ambitions. “When you’ve already won, you just think: ‘I want it again, again and again’. Arsenal have been incredible in the past and we want to come back (to the results). So we as players want to go out there and give back what they’ve done and fight for the fans too.”

The center forward exalts his joy at having regained Arteta’s trust and makes himself available to play in all sectors of the attack. “I want to be on the field,” he said. “Sometimes I start to play more like a 9 and I understand that my position is in the center, but I also understand that I can drop to the right, to the left, drop to the center and stay in the box. So my focus now is to stay in the box .I think the wingers we have love to move too, so that helps me a lot and it helps them a lot, because I want to do that too.

Arsenal are second in the Premier League, with 39 points, six behind leaders Liverpool. The team will return to the field this Saturday, when they visit Brighton, at the Falmer Stadium, at 2.30pm (Brasilia time), for the 20th round.
