BYD closes 2024 with 327% growth and ranks 8th in sales in Brazil

With over 10 thousand registrations in December, the car manufacturer is a leader in the electric and hybrid markets

BYD Auto Brasil concluded 2024 with impressive results, consolidating its position as one of the most important brands in the automotive market. The car manufacturer recorded 10,091 registrations in December, placing it in 8th place in the ranking of the best-selling brands in the month.

This performance is even more surprising considering that BYD arrived in Brazil only three years ago. With an aggressive strategy, the company has overtaken traditional brands that have been operating in the country for decades.

In 2024, BYD accumulated 76,713 registered vehicles, marking a growth of 327.68% compared to 17,937 cars registered in 2023.

The Song line was the great protagonist of December, with 5,239 units sold, even surpassing the Jeep Compass, a reference in the medium SUV segment. The King midsize sedan also stood out, recording 1,950 registrations in the last month of the year.

In the electric vehicle segment, BYD maintained overall leadership in 2024, with a market share of 73.4%. This means that 7 out of 10 electric cars sold in Brazil belong to the brand. The Dolphin Mini model was the flagship, with 21,945 units sold, followed by the Dolphin, which recorded 11,491 registrations.

In addition to its success in the electric market, BYD’s share in the hybrid segment was also impressive, reaching 26%.
