what is this
Erica Faure, 41, is a successful author of detective novels. Returning to his hometown to clear out his dead parents’ house, he discovers the lifeless body of Alexandra, his childhood best friend, with her veins cut out. Convinced that it is not a suicide, Erika begins an investigation where the past and present intersect. Above all, however, it is meeting Captain Patrick Saab that will turn his life upside down.

who is he with
Julie de Bona here plays the role of Erica Faure, a heroine full of evil, novelist and detective in her spare time. Opposite him, we find Grigory Fitus, who comes across as Patrick, a somewhat rough-and-tumble cop. The duo works perfectly between Erika’s whimsical side and the life-weary Captain. We want more!
But in the casting we also see one of the historical figures of the series Tomorrow Belongs to Us with Maud Becker, who plays Anna, Erica’s sister. Jeremy Credevil, on the other hand, leaves his humor in the closet to slip into the skin of Lucas, a dark and angry character. Finally, Theo Fernandez plays Patrick’s teammate, Martin.
is it worth watching
You may not know, but the series is adapted from the detective novels of Camilla Luckberg. A successful Swedish author whose works are internationally known. Therefore, overcoming such popularity was a big gamble for TF1, who even enlisted the help of a writer to create a specific scenario.
And we’re not going to hold back, we just love the series. Rather than investigations with (really) unexpected twists and an atmosphere that’s both delightful and creepy, it’s really Erica’s character that makes the whole six-episode work so salty.
This heroine has a thousand flaws, but that’s why we love her. He is caring but also selfish, protective but carefree, smart but reckless. In short, he is like us, and Jules de Bona interprets him in ways we never knew before!
If the actor has already proven his talent many times, we find him here in a role that suits him perfectly. This is a real meeting between the actor and his character, which is happening before our eyes! But that’s not the only asset of this versatile series.
We stick almost immediately to a very original structure of fiction. Instead of a police theme like we’re used to on Channel 1, it’s a sentimental theme that runs throughout the episodes. The investigation ends after one evening.
Even better, while we’d expect our two main characters to be in each other’s circle for many seasons, as is usually the case, that’s not the case here. Needless to say, that’s not the point of the series, and that’s a real relief because our hero is so self-sufficient.
On the other hand, Grigory Fitus is an excellent playing partner for Julie de Bona. The two actors honestly seem to have always known each other, which offers a brilliant pairing for their characters. Each dialogue is delicious ping-pong, quickly immersing us in the dynamics of dogs and cats.
In short, it’s eye-opening, chilling, but also funny, fresh and original. What more could you ask for from this fiction, whose plots should surprise you without the slightest doubt?
