A few episodes were enough for Gong Yoo to become one of Squid Game’s most iconic actors. The latter gives his features in the Netflix series to an employer whose real name is unknown.
The character played a dual role in the first season, primarily by introducing Ji-hoon to this macabre game world. A chance meeting on the subway convinced the latter not to come to the United States, but instead to stay in South Korea to take revenge on the creators of the Squid Game.
Therefore, in Season 2, Gi-hoon decided to use his fortune of 45.6 billion won to find the only character that would put him on the trail of the Squid Game organizers. At the end of a particularly exciting game of Russian roulette, the recruiter shoots himself in the head, but Gi-hoon doesn’t leave a final clue.
Although she only appeared in the first episode of this new season, Gong Yu’s performance dazzled fans of the series. Many also expressed regret that the character was not offered a more prominent role this season 2. Due to the phenomenal success of the program, Hwang Dong-hyuk agreed to present a sequel, the overall theme of which was motivated by Gi-hun Seong’s desire to put an end to these macabre games. Season 3 thus marks the end of the character’s story, but not necessarily the end of the Squid Game franchise:

Season 2 already gave us a chance to lift the curtain on goaltending through No-Eul’s character story. There is no doubt that season three will allow us to learn more about them, but also about the masked man.
