Amazon MGM Studios has greenlit the film for release later this year. Still untitled, the documentary is currently in production and Melania Trump is executive producing, suggesting the film offers no critical distance from its subject.
According to Amazon, the project is expected to be released in the first half of 2025 and will be released in theaters and streaming. Note that this process has become commonplace in the US: a limited theatrical release with a streaming release. For France, we can bet that the cinema box will not be checked.

Ratner’s return
Brett Ratner has been out of Hollywood since 2017 when six women accused him of sexual harassment in an article published Los Angeles Times. Elliott Page also said that the director humiliated him on the set of X-Men 3.
He’s been sidelined by his agency and hasn’t made a film since, though in recent months he’s been trying to drum up interest in a fourth Rush Hour film for his triumphant comeback, according to multiple sources. The Hollywood Reporter in August.
Brett Ratner denied allegations of wrongdoing in 2017 and no criminal charges have been filed.
Ratner and Trump, friendship story?
The news comes as Melania Trump prepares to return to the White House this month as first lady after her husband Donald Trump won a second term last November.
As for Brett Ratner’s connection to the Trumps, it should be noted that the 2011 film The Central Park Heist, directed by Ratner, included exterior shots of Trump’s property and Donald Trump visited the film’s set.
According to the film’s production notes: “The real estate mogul decided to visit the set of his TV series, The Celebrity Apprentice, a few floors above during a break to see how Ratner and the cast were doing.“
To remind you, the famous Apprentice was a reality TV show hosted by the 47th President of the United States from 2008 to 2015 on NBC.
