Senatran’s decision benefits candidates who have completed the minimum workload by December 31, 2024
The National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran) has announced the extension of the deadline for the practical driving test by 90 days, which must now be carried out by 31 March 2025. In Rio Grande do Sul, over 78 thousand candidates have completed the minimum workload of practical lessons until the end of 2024, have received the benefit of the deadline extension.
This decision by Senatran comes after analyzing court decisions that have extended deadlines in some states due to a lack of exam seats, mainly due to the effects of the pandemic. While the same shortage of vacancies did not occur in Rio Grande do Sul, the measure aims to ensure equal treatment of candidates across the country.
From Monday (6/1), candidates will be able to set the date for the practical test at the Driver Qualification Centers (CFC). Anyone who does not complete the course by the extended deadline will have to start the course again, being able to take advantage of some phases already completed, such as theoretical and practical lessons.
