Famous faces have been forced to flee the normally idyllic neighborhood due to a huge fire.
In the affluent neighborhood of Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, United States, anonymous people usually lurk and try to spy on celebrities’ homes.
Now, however, its streets are filled with firefighters battling a giant forest fire that is devastating the area.
The Pacific Palisades fire has already become the most destructive in the history of the city of Los Angeles and could become the most destructive in the history of the State of California. It was the first to spread in the region, on Tuesday (07/01).
Other fires in California have caused more deaths and burned larger areas. But the destruction of homes and buildings that is happening now is historic.
Five people have already died due to the situation in Los Angeles.
Across the city, more than 100,000 people were forced from their homes as winds fueled four large fires. A state of emergency was declared and roads were clogged with vehicles leaving the region.
Several famous faces were forced to leave their homes in greater Los Angeles, including Mark Hamill Star Warsand the actor of the series Schitt’s Creek Eugene Levy.

James Woods, who starred in films such as Nixon AND Casinohe said on social media that he didn’t know if his house was still standing.
“It’s like losing a loved one,” Woods wrote.
A house in Pacific Palisades costs an average of $4.5 million (about R$27 million) in November 2024, according to the website Realtor.com.
The neighborhood is bordered on the south by a 3-mile stretch of beaches on the Pacific Ocean, located between the popular cities of Malibu and Santa Monica.
Pacific Palisades is known for being a small town, even though it is part of a large city. The neighborhood is home to high-end fashion shops, cafes, and a farmers market.
The area became sought after by wealthy people and celebrities in the 20th century due to its relative isolation and access to nature, compared to increasingly urbanized Los Angeles.
Homes ranging in style from ultramodern to Mediterranean wind along tree-lined streets, often hidden by trees or nestled at the foot of Temescal Canyon.
But the Palisades fire has already destroyed much of that idyllic nature.
In an Instagram post, actor Mark Hamill called the fire “the most horrific since ’93” – when 323 homes were destroyed in nearby Malibu.

Eugene Levy, who became famous for his role in the film series American caketold local media that he saw “black, intense” smoke above the Temescal Canyon.
“I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was very dark,” he told the Los Angeles Times.
The stars of reality show Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their home in the fire, Pratt’s sister wrote on Instagram.
“I’m heartbroken for my brother, Heidi and the kids,” she said.
Miles Teller, best known for his role in Top Gun: nonconformistand his wife Keleigh also live in the area.
Posting on Instagram, Keleigh shared a photo of the fires and a emoji broken heart. He asked people to leave bowls of water for animals left behind as residents evacuated from their homes.
Meanwhile, actor Steve Guttenberg, known for Police Academythey helped move cars to make room for firefighting vehicles to pass.
He asked residents to leave their keys in their abandoned cars so they could be moved.
“We really need people to move their cars,” he told news channel KTLA. “This is not a parking lot.”

Not only have famous residents been affected by the fire, but major buildings in the area are also under threat.
Palisades Charter High School, which has served as a movie set and is home to several famous alumni, was damaged by fire, local media reported.
The school appeared in the 1976 horror classic Carrie.
Alumni include director JJ Abrams, musician Will.i.am, and actors Forest Whitaker and Katey Sagal.
The Getty Villa is an art museum in the Palisades that houses a large collection of artwork and artifacts, including works by Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet.
The museum confirmed Tuesday that it was closed to the public and that some trees and vegetation on the site had burned, but added that “no structures are on fire and staff and collection remain safe.”
