Elsbeth on TF1: What do Columbo and this eccentric new investigator have in common?

TF1 invites its viewers to meet Elsbeth this Tuesday, January 8, 2025 at 9:10 p.m. She is none other than the eccentric protagonist of the channel’s new detective series. In this new fic, we follow the story of the character Elsbeth Tassion, who is a brilliant lawyer… but quite unconventional!

Here he finds himself fighting Captain CW Wagner, the big boss of the city’s police force. But that’s not all, because he also works with police officer Kaya Blanke… who appreciates his quick wit, his quirky ways and his unique style!

Quite original, the Elsbeth series still has something in common with another completely iconic detective series. This is Columbo, the iconic detective played by Peter Falk from 1968-1978, then from 1989-2003.

Indeed, one of Elsbeth’s specialties is opening each episode by revealing the identity of the perpetrator and how they carried out their plan! However, once Columbo opened up exactly the same…

But this is not the only feature of Elsbeth! Did you also know that the series is a spin-off series of…another spin-off series? Initially, the American channel CBS released the fiction The Good Wife (seven seasons), then its spin-off The Good Fight (six seasons).

Subsequently, franchise creators Robert and Michelle King decided to expand the story of Elsbeth’s character after she appeared over the years in The Good Wife and The Good Fight!

However, the duo specify that it is not necessary to have seen the two series to be able to watch Elsbeth’s affairs. Moreover, the success was such in the Atlantic that CBS ordered a second season!
