Welcome to Derry is set in 1962, 27 years before the events of It: Chapter One. The series immerses us in the terrifying history of a town haunted by Pennywise, inspired by Stephen King’s original novel The Interludes – disturbing stories and historical tragedies that Mike Hanlon’s character explores as an adult.

Cast of Welcome to Derry

In terms of casting, we already know that Bill Skarsgård will reprise his role as Pennywise, despite early rumors suggesting otherwise: so we’re convinced! Other cast members who will populate this new version of Derry include: Taylor Page, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Ryder, Madeleine Stowe and Rudy Mancuso.

Who is behind the Welcome to Derry series?

Andres Muschietti (filmmaker) and Barbara Muschietti (producer), the duo behind the films thatreturned to continue expanding the King’s world. They are joined by Jason Fuchs (Pan, Wonder Woman) and Brad Caleb Kane (Black Sails, Tokyo Vice).

Andres Muschietti, director of the two previous films released in 2017 and 2019, will be behind the camera for at least four episodes, including the pilot. Therefore, fans can find the elaborate atmosphere that made feature films successful.

When is Welcome to Derry coming out?

The series begins Monday, October 27 on HBO in the US and will be immediately available on the HBO Max platform in France for one episode per week, every Monday.
