Nacional-SP x Vasco, Copinha: where to watch, lineups and refereeing

Teams reach the third and final round needing to score to qualify; the match is this Friday (9), at 3pm (Brasilia time)

The moment of truth has arrived in Copinha. This Friday (10), Vasco and Nacional-SP will compete in the third and final round of the group stage of the country’s main youth competition. The teams will then meet at 3pm (Brasilia time) at the Nicolau Alayon stadium, in Barra Funda, home of Group 32 and also of Nacional itself, the historic team from Sao Paulo.

Both teams have a chance to advance. Vasco depends only on themselves, which means that, if they win the match, they will advance to the next stage without needing to “dry out” in the other match of the group (XV de Piracicaba x Canaã-DF). Nacional, in turn, needs to win and can count on yellow cards to advance. This is because the criteria for the playoff in Copinha are, in order: number of victories; goal difference; number of goals scored; fewer red cards; fewer yellow cards; direct comparison; prize draw.

How the Nacional-SP arrives

Nacional has not managed to live up to the fact that it is the home team, at least for now. After all, they drew in the first round and lost in the second. If you want to dream of qualifying you will have to defeat Vasco.

In case they beat Vasco 1-0 and see Canaã beat XV with the same score, the DF team would advance, and XV and Nacional would be tied in points, victories, balance and number of goals.

How Vasco arrives

Cruz-Maltino also did not win the competition. Using a team with more Under 17s, given that the Under 20s are mostly in the squad that will play the first rounds of Carioca, coach Matheus Curopos’s team is not doing well.

There were 1-1 draws with the XV, in addition to the 0-0 draw with Canaã, in the second round. Cruz-Maltino’s strong point was, in fact, goalkeeper Phillipe Gabriel. With numerous important saves he avoided defeat against Vasco in the first two matches.

Vasco needs victory to advance to the Cup –

With two points Vasco is in second place tied with Canaã. A simple victory is enough to advance. It will also be possible to go through with a draw, as long as XV de Piracicaba beats Canaã, in the match which will take place on Friday at 12.45pm (Brasilia time).
