Last July, Deadpool returned to the movies for his third adventure, which took him to the multiverse, teaming up with Wolverine and ending up in the terrifying Vortex, a parallel space where he met a number of characters from many other Marvel films.
In Sean Levy’s feature film, MCU fans were delighted to see the reappearance of Sabretooth, Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four, Elektra Natchios, Blade, X-23 and even Pyro. However, a character that many fans were no doubt hoping to see in the film was sorely missing: the cybernetic mutant Cable, played by Josh Brolin in Deadpool 2.
Why isn’t Cable in the movie?
However, if this character, who made a strong impression on the cinema 6 years earlier, was not there, it is for a simple reason. Indeed, as we can guess thanks to a tweet from Rob Liefeld, the comic book writer who gave birth to the character, Cable was just too lazy to join the party.

“We shouldn’t let him get into Deadpool & Wolverine”Liefeld wrote. “This is the biggest mistake of all time.”
Back in October of last year, on his X account, the author lamented the absence of a character in Sean Levy’s feature film. Did Marvel Studios execs make this decision to keep Cable from competing with Wolverine alongside Deadpool?
