Contract may include derivative film about the character Mother Gothel, released in theaters
The actress Kathryn Hahn is in negotiations to play the villain Mother Gothel in the live-action remake of Tangledaccording to information from journalist Daniel Richtman (via Omelet). Furthermore, the contract speculated by Disney would include plans for a derivative film centered on the character, scheduled for release in theaters.
The live-action Tangled There is no announced cast yet. The script will be signed by Ashleigh Powellfrom The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. The management may be in charge of Michael Graceyfrom Better Man: The Robbie Williams Story.
Based on the classic tale by the Brothers Grimm, Tangled accompanies Rapunzela princess with magically long hair who lives trapped in a tower. With the help of the bandit Flynn Ridershe manages to escape and begins to explore the world beyond her prison. The original animated version, released by Disney, is one of the studio’s greatest successes.
Unlike other recent live-actions, such as Lady and the Trampthis will be released in theaters and not directly on Disney+.
There is no premiere date or official confirmation from Disney about the production of Tangled.
