Back to Sullivan’s Crossing: Where was the series starring The Scott Brothers and Gilmore Girls filmed?

Do you love Virgin River and looking for a new series to watch in the same vein? We can only recommend watching Return to Sullivan’s Crossing. Available for free on TF1+, this little nugget worn by Chad Michael Murray (The Scott Brothers) and Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls) will not leave you indifferent.

Adapted from Robin Carr’s novel of the same name, the series already has two seasons. The TV show follows Maggie Sullivan, a famous neurosurgeon in the city of Boston. Due to legal problems, a young woman decides to return to her hometown to analyze her life.

Especially since his father still lives there and their relationship is difficult to say the least. Is there a chance that he will get back with her? Also, once he gets to Sullivan’s Crossing, he falls under the spell of Cal Jones. Needless to say, he may never return to Boston.

“We are filming in Nova Scotia, Canada”

But then, in which city was the series filmed? According to Roma Roth, the TV show’s showrunner, in a 2022 interview with Variety, they were not filming in the United States: “To differentiate it from Virgin River, which is being filmed in Vancouver, we decided to go to Nova Scotia!”

Most of the scenes were shot in Halifax. This Canadian city is famous for its beautiful mountains, rivers and brilliant blue sky. However, Roma Roth confirms that this is not the case in the book:

“We made a choice to leave books”

“Choosing this location was also a decision to move away from the books a bit. However, given that I was born and lived in Canada for a long time, it was always a personal goal to create and write a Canadian series that would appeal to an international audience.”

This is understandable! Head over to TF1+ to find out Sullivan’s Crossing for free and completely.
