The app car gets caught with 36 fines and no driving conditions in Porto Alegre

An inspection by the Public Transport and Circulation Company (EPTC) identified, on the afternoon of Monday 14th, a car that was being transported via an app in inadequate driving conditions. During the approach, which took place on Avenida Ipiranga, in the Jardim do Salso neighborhood, the vehicle attracted the attention of the officers due to its poor condition, with several signs of collision and several irregularities.




“Vehicles transporting passengers privately via apps are not subject to mandatory inspections at the EPTC. It is necessary to pay attention to their status, as some elements are essential for the safety of passengers and drivers,” emphasizes the special operations coordinator of the ‘EPTC, Leandro Barbosa.

In addition to the evident state of poor conservation, the vehicle had debts exceeding R$ 9,000, relating to the license which expired in 2023, as well as 36 fines for various irregularities, such as speeding, driving without a seat belt, driving with a expired, driving in the fast lane, going through a red light and driving without due attention or precautions essential for safety.

EPTC regularly monitors passenger transport via apps, in accordance with the legal provisions of the Brazilian Highway Code (CTB). Information and complaints about traffic and transport can be forwarded via the Citizen Services Center 156 (option 1) or by calling 118. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
