Who remembers the first villain to appear in a Marvel production? For that, we have to go back to 2008 and the release of Iron Man, directed by Robert Downey Jr. In this feature film that went on to create the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we discover Tony Stark’s origins before he became him. In the first scene, the latter appears as a wealthy arms dealer, full of himself and, above all, completely unaware of the damage caused by his invention. Severely injured during an attack on his convoy by terrorists, Stark is then imprisoned in a cave where he is able to meet with Dr. Ho Insen.
This famous surgeon helped the billionaire on the electro-magnetic prosthetic heart, then on the Mark 1 armor, which marks the first prototype of Iron Man. Doctor Insen was killed during their escape attempt, while Stark managed to escape, but not without leaving his armor behind.
During the escape, Tony Stark seriously injures Raza al-Wazari (Faran Tahir), who is introduced as the leader of the terrorist group. However, the latter managed to survive the battle and later capture the Mark 1. This discovery allowed him to share his findings with his ally Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), the film’s big bad guy.
Several MCU villains will appear in the new series!
There is no doubt that this villain has been forgotten by many MCU fans. But they’ll have a chance to refresh their memories as the character prepares for his big return to the Marvel Universe! according to termThe latter will indeed appear in the Vision Quest series, created as a spin-off of WandaVision.
The Disney+-produced series will also see another villain – a much more iconic one – return, as robot Ultron has been confirmed to be there too. Note that Raza was supposed to return to the MCU earlier, but his appearance in the Shang-Chi movie was ultimately cut during editing.
Several years in development, the Vision series will begin filming in the coming months for a later broadcast on Disney+.
