Squid Game Season 2: This character has pissed off some fans and his translator understands!

Warning, spoilers. Before continuing reading this article, it is recommended to watch “Squid Game” season 2.

Still on Netflix’s top viewing spots, Squid Game proves its success with a second season that delivers an all-time record for the streaming service. The South Korean phenomenon series has made a stunning comeback three years after its first season.

Fans responded to Gi-hoon (Lee Jung-jae), the 456th player, but also to discovering new characters, new games and new transitions.

Season 2 of the series, created, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, explores new terrain and reveals the behind-the-scenes of this deadly game, particularly through the character of The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) who infiltrates the players, and policeman Hwang Joon-ho (Wee Ha-joon) through the character.

Fans are disappointed with the character’s storyline in the second season…

But the latter is removed from the heart of the story, as he desperately tries to find the Squid Game island years after succeeding. At the end of the first season, he met the front man, who is none other than his missing brother, and he was presumed dead.

He was eventually rescued by a fisherman who helped him find the island. Joon-ho also teams up with Ji-hoon, who has a chance to achieve his ambitions since he won the jackpot at the end of the game, to try to finish it off while Joon-ho, with the help of mercenaries and a fisherman – who actually seems to be on the frontman’s payroll – tries to find the island on the frontman and for attacking the guards.

But season 2 is just a sequence of failures for Jun-oh, whose plot doesn’t advance much. This angered Squid Game fans, who took to social media to express their frustration and even sadness. Some people didn’t understand why he didn’t reveal the identity of the frontman to Gi-hoon and why he does his research poorly.

I should have known that Squid Game season 2 would leave me disappointed from the moment the cop didn’t tell Gi-hoon that his brother is actually one of the bad guys, and one of my beast noirs is when the character doesn’t share. Important information for plot reasons.

It worries me. Junho could have watched this video while looking for In-ho, things would have been much easier 😒😒 #SquidGame2

I don’t really understand the point of Squid Game 2, there is no development, it’s just them playing different games and we still don’t know anything about the leader and his motivations, Gi Hoon blah and the sex cop doesn’t move. in front

His translator agrees!

And Junho’s translator seems to agree with the audience. Wi Ha-joon talked about this in an interview after watching the entire season 2 IMBC :

“Actually, it must have been frustrating, because my character just failed over and over again. I agree with the reaction of the audience who felt they were particularly bored with my character. I wondered why they were “researching” him like this when he could have gotten a submarine or looked for other means of exploration. . “

Although Wi Ha-joon understands how viewers feel about her character’s storyline in Squid Game Season 2, she did not get bored during filming. Even his previous experience was useful for his research sequences:

“In the army, I was responsible for counter-terrorism, so I was very familiar with the methods of searching the forest. What I did every day in the army was hold a rifle and shoot. I still talk to my fellow military men and they see similarities from my time in the military when I watch The Squid Game.”

His speech is quite bold, especially since he confirmed that his character will definitely return in season 3. He still hopes that the public will continue to be interested in his character after the end of the series.

Obviously, the actor can’t talk in detail about his character’s future in order not to spoil the third and final season of Squid Game, but we hope that he will have an important role in the end of the phenomenon series. Given her relationship with her previous man, that’s a no-brainer.

Both seasons of “Squid Game” are available on Netflix.
