Until an agreement is reached with Paramount Studios, Ridley Scott will produce the post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars for theaters

Director of films such as Gladiator (2000), Alien, the 8th Passenger (1979), Blade Runner – The Android Hunter (1982) and Thelma & Louise (1991), Ridley Scott is linked to the biopic of the Anglo-Australian pop band Bee Geesbut the project was halted after a conflict between the director and the studio responsible for production, Paramount Studios.

It is worth remembering how this news comes almost a year after the confirmation of Scott as director of the film, who will say that, with the script ready and the cast defined, filming was scheduled to begin in early 2025, but the problem with the company put everything on pause.

“The deal — the studio changed the goalposts. I said, ‘You can’t do that.’ They insisted. I said, ‘Well, I’ll let you know, I’m leaving, because I’m going to the next movie.’ They didn’t believe me, and I believed,” he said.

They were asking me to go too far. And I said, ‘No. Next!’ They didn’t like my deal. So I said, ‘I’m going to move on.’ I’m expensive, but I’m fucking good.

Finally, Scott explained that he hopes to reach an agreement with Paramount for the project to get off the ground – and it should go into production in the second half of 2025. While the biopic of Bee Gees is on break, he will helm the post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Starswhich is expected to begin filming in April.
