Pierce Brosnan knows spy movies! The actor has actually played the world’s most famous secret agent four times and will return to the genre in Steven Soderbergh’s The Black Bag, which is expected in French cinemas on March 12.
But in the 23 years that separate his last appearance as James Bond and this thriller, in which he will be opposite Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett, Pierce Brosnan has also lent his features to a spy in The November Man, which airs tonight on TF1 Séries Movies. A long time project
November Man was produced by Beau St. Clair and Pierce Brosnan under their Irish Dreamtime production company. The two friends had already attempted an adaptation of Bill Granger’s novel in 2005, after the former James Bond postponed the 007 agent suit, which was due to begin the following year, but was eventually scrapped due to a lack of a director. St. Clair still retained the rights to adapt the book, and in 2012, when Roger Donaldson volunteered to direct the film, production finally began.
James Bond Mania
Pierce Brosnan, best known for his role as Agent 007, could have starred alongside Olga Kurylenko in an episode of the James Bond spy saga, had he not passed the torch to Daniel Craig. Indeed, the actress plays a “James Bond girl” in Quantum of Solace, an episode directed by Marc Foster in 2008.
