If actress Julia Stiles started her career in the late 1990s, her career really took off thanks to her role in the Jason Bourne saga, after the first part was released in 2002, where she played agent Nicky Parsons opposite Matt Damon.
In 2010, Showtime announced the arrival of the fifth season of the (iconic!) series Dexter, played by the impeccable and always disturbing Michael S. Hall was wearing his custom role as a serial killer.
In the guise of Lumen Ann Pearce, a role that also earned her a Golden Globe and Emmy Award nomination, Julia Stiles appeared in 10 episodes of a planned 12 episodes. “She’s the only one who knows the truth about Dexter and accepts what he’s doing.” The actor commented during the announcement of his arrival in the series. “I think it’s a beautiful, deep bond. But she also has to carry her own burden, grief and anger about what happened to her.”
perfect osmosis
The actor actually gave a great composition in the series. Her character, Lumen, was rescued from a group called the Barrel Girl Gang, who tortured, assaulted and killed women, then dumped their bodies in barrels in a nearby swamp.
He probably would have met the same fate if Dexter hadn’t intervened to save his life. Despite this horrific experience, she showed a fierce determination when, with Dexter’s help, she decided to kill one by one the men who had brutally raped her.
After killing the last member of the Barrel Girl Gang, she decided to give up her life of violence. But that also meant leaving Dexter behind. Dexter executive producer Sarah Colleton said Entertainment Weekly That there was always the possibility of Lumen coming back because she was alive and her relationship with Dexter ended amicably. But at least his exit from the series was well planned in the narrative arc written by the writers.
Many fans were hoping for his return in Dexter: New Blood, which will air in 2021-2022, which would be interesting, as Lumen was one of the rare people who really knew Dexter and, above all, understood him. . But, unfortunately, this opportunity did not arise.
