During an interview with La Baulera del Cosothe filmmaker spoke about Flash not be an attractive character for the general public. “When a film like this comes out, there is an expectation of bringing in all four quadrants of the audience,” he said.
In this case, the “four quadrants” represent men over and under 25 years old and women over and under 25 years old – and The Flash “failed” to achieve. “I’ve found that a lot of people aren’t interested in the Flash character, in both female quadrants.” Finally, Muschietti explained that “gender fatigue [de filmes] of superheroes” contributed to the failure of the film, which also did not please specialized critics.
