This Thursday, January 16 at 8:55pm, Arte broadcasts the final 3 episodes of Season 2 of the English detective series Vigil, hosted by Suranne Jones (Gentleman Jack) and Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones).
In this exciting new investigation, our two heroes this time infiltrate the hostile ranks of the Royal Air Force. When a prototype Air Force fighter jet is compromised and kills several soldiers during a demonstration in Scotland, Amy Silva’s team is tasked with finding the culprits.
As the investigation progresses, they discover that they are dealing with a bigger conspiracy than they imagined.
Is a third season possible?
In the final episode of Vigil Season 2, viewers finally learn what really happened in Dundair and who took control of the drones. Does this ending mean there won’t be a third season? Nothing is less certain.
While promoting Season 2, creator Tom Edge explained that he was not opposed to the idea of a sequel. “If we consider it, it will be with the conviction that there is something urgent to say, both in terms of the characters and the subject matter. But the world proves to us every day that it is full of turbulence and question marks…He explained.
An opinion shared by Suranne Jones:As always, it must be the right story and everyone must agree that it is right. So maybe…“, he explained in the episode The Radio Times Podcast.
So far, the BBC, which broadcasts the detective series across the channel, has yet to announce an order for an additional season. Anything is still possible for Amy Silva’s team.
Catch the final three episodes of Vigil Season 2 this Thursday, January 16 at 8:55 PM on Arte. For late visitors, episodes are available until April 1 on the arte.tv platform.
