Only 256 thousand children and adolescents received the second dose in the cities of São Paulo selected for the campaign

Only 10.65% of children and adolescents in the State of Saint Paul who are part of the target audience to be vaccinated against denguestarted in February 2024, completed the vaccination program with the two recommended doses of Qdenga vaccine.

“The dengue immunizer is distributed and purchased by Ministry of Health (MS), the State is responsible for disbursing it to the Municipalities. Furthermore, each city is responsible for the vaccination strategy, according to the federal agency’s guidelines,” he said in a statement.

The municipal management of São Paulo, for its part, specified that the Municipal Immunization Program (PMI) “continues to carry out active research through home visits carried out by the Family Health Strategy (FSE) teams, through telephone calls, sending SMS, also to the ‘Vaccination D-Days’ strategy, with the opening of all UBS on Saturdays”.

There is a vaccine in the capital available in basic health units (UBS)active from Monday to Friday, and at the Integrated Ambulatory Medical Assistance (AMA), open from Monday to Saturday. The service is active from 7:00 to 19:00.
