Prime Video’s new venture has MrBeast as presenter and has broken all audience records
James Stephen Donaldson is one of the most famous YouTubers in the world, but you probably know him by the nickname he uses on the internet: MrBeast. He has made a career out of showing different challenges in his videos and, every year, earns between 600 and 700 million dollars (a value that can reach R$4 billion).

In December 2024 it was the turn of the YouTuber’s biggest contractor: Beast Games. Launched on Prime Video, the production has already exceeded the threshold of 500 million viewers, a milestone for the platform.
In addition to taking first place in Brazil, the production also dominated popular territories, such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.
The program is the game show with the highest prize in history, 5 million dollars, approximately R$ 30.46 million, a fact that landed it in the record books. At the start of the program there are a thousand competitors – another record – testing their strength, agility, precision, intelligence, aim and, above all, their luck.
Challenges include: loading a 5-ton monster truck, answering random questions, and even escaping from US Army soldiers.
For the competition, a scenic city was created at a cost of 14 million dollars, approximately R$84.9 million. In total there were 1,107 cameras to monitor the matches.
Inspired by “Round 6”, Beast Games has the same premise: people compete for the millionaire prize, and in each round, some are eliminated.
Another similarity with the South Korean series is the “brutality” of the games. Of course, unlike “Round 6”, in MrBeast’s game show, the loser doesn’t pay with his life, he simply leaves the show.
However, competitions are not “nice” and lead participants to make extreme decisions, such as choosing between friends and money, deceiving colleagues, and even eliminating others.
During the program, contestants also compete for many other incredible prizes, such as an island worth $1.8 million (R$11 million), a Lamborghini and various sums of money.
There are ten episodes that make the viewer bond and root for or against the participants. Chapters are available every Thursday on Prime Video.
