New Midsommar? This horror movie pitch promises us! Watch the trailer

For several years, the very popular Hollywood studio A24 is the origin of many horror films that have left their mark on the audience: The Witcher, Hereditary, Midsommar, X, The Hand, The Green Room… Opus, their new production, adding to the list. And the least we can say is that his pitch is highly desirable.

Written and directed by Marc Anthony Green, Opus follows the story of a young journalist who is invited to the return of a huge pop star who has been missing for over thirty years, Moretti, a kind of fictional David Bowie. A reporter arrives at a strange villa surrounded by other journalists and discovers a carefully prepared trap.

“life experience“, we can read on the film’s posters. The recently released trailer depicts a completely insane world with a sectarian atmosphere reminiscent of Ari Aster’s Midsommar.

In the role of the heroine we meet Ayo Edebir, star of the TV series The Bear, but also Murray Bartlett (White Lotus), Amber Midthander (Predator) and Juliet Lewis (Les Nerfs à vive). Finally, in the shoes of a pop star, it is John Malkovich who embodies the legend of Machiavelli.

Opus will be released in the US on March 14th. In France, a release date has not yet been announced.
